Ed Garza | Mr. Pitchman | National Media Buyer

My name is Edward Garza, also known as Ed Garza, Big Ed or EJ, as my closest friends call me, a native Houstonian born and raised in Bellaire, TX. I grew up playing sports and excelled as a baseball player into my first year of High School. Hitting grand slams under pressure was my specialty. No matter where the ball was thrown I somehow found the ball and sent it over the fence for a game winning slug. My sophomore year in High School took a turn due to medical reasons and I decided to focus on public speaking. The next three years proved to lay the ground work for the rest of my life. During my final two years in high school I lettered in debate and became a member of the national forensic league. During my first year in junior college I swept an entire speech summer event in seven categories, taking home first place in every category. At this point I realized I was born to speak, motivate, teach and train.

Therefore, I left Houston, TX and went to Ohio to attend school. Graduating from seminary with a degree in Theology, I traveled the country and ministered to several households and cities for over a decade. I then landing back in Ohio to take care of family. While in Ohio I attended Kent State University and obtained my degree in Business Management. While I was at Kent State, I was asked to teach a class on Computers without Fear, Excel and PowerPoint. So I designed a few workshops for the Kent State and after a few reviews from students I found myslef teaching as staff for a few semesters. I taught myself website design and searched out knowledge in marketing. While enrolled at Kent State I worked at a radio station and national magazine learning all I could about advertising. After graduation I left to the big city of Las Vegas to fufill a contract for a direct selling company. In Vegas I built a database of over 40,000 business contacts through networking events I hosted and sponsored. I also met some of my best friends and media buyers in Vegas. I was mentored by some of the largest media buyers in the world and learned from some of the top videographers in the industry.

As a minister and businessman I have spoken to tens, hundreds and thousands in my career in different settings including church events, workshop venues and international conference calls.

I love to teach, train, coach and help others. My passion is marketing and business development.

I currently live in Southeast Houston, TX. My real sweet spot in marketing is promotions for events, fundraisers and new products using NEW MEDIA and WEB 2.0.
